My advice to you is…

Do not go here if you consider yourself down to earth.

NEGATIVES:

90% of the students/faculty are rude, snobby and hold themselves higher than others

you need to SEARCH for social events (not really advertised)

academics are difficult

nightlife is limited to only one unsafe strip of bars and clubs

UT students do not party

students are very cliquey

most parties are like high school house parties (I feel too old for that)

food selection is limited

certain areas of campus smell like garbage

most of the admissions/head faculty do not know what the hell they are doing (ex: I went to the study abroad office and the woman in charge answered every question I had with

the surrounding area is not safe at all (homeless people right outside campus)

horrible transportation (Don't use the cabs!! download the uber app)

orientation sucked! I met noone

the gym is REALLY small

depending on the dorm you are in, they are pretty spacious

beautiful campus and buildings

job opportunities

small campus, easy to get from A to B

You obviously came here for a party school. I'm sorry that you ended up in the wrong place. "Academics are difficult" is pretty much all anyone needs to read from this review to know its full of it.

I do not know why you decided not to mention that a huge number of guys on campus have a habit of smoking marijuana. It was terrible for me to smell that smell in the hallway every day. They even wanted to get me hooked on smoking. However, I was able to find an alternative with cbd gummy benefits , but this did not mean that I could continue to study with those idiots.
