To start out I'm going to say do not listen to anything the admission office tells you. They are manipulative and also flat out lie. The University was even exposed lying about statistics. Dean Gore & Dr. Jackman even acknowledge this. The school may tell you the average class size is 20 something or so. The administration were taking classes of 60 and saying they were two classes of 30 that happened to meet at the same time and happened to have the same professor. This was in order to mislead prospective students and also college ranking sites that use the average class size. Hopefully you understand how that manipulates the numbers. IOh yea, the admission office repremands any tour guides that speak the truth. Monica Cook has no problem lying to new students. She even said

every school manipulates statistics

which speaks to the character of the institution. Also, they will be nice to you before they have your commitment. This is because they know your scholarships will never be as big transferring schools and it is a hassel. Once you are here, they treat you as if they are paying you. This is the administration which also punishes even tenured professors who speak the truth.

The only thing this school has is a pretty campus and hot girls. YES I know the hot girl thing is nice (and don't get me wrong I railed my fair share) but it really is true education comes first and you will realize that as you get closer to graduation. I'm not going to lie I have a good job, but UT had nothing to do with it. It was all family connections. The school will say they have plentiful research opportunities but they mean there are tons of national organizations that anybody can apply to. I graduated from here and kick myself in the head everyday. ABSOLUTELY DO NOT GO HERE! Trust me I spent plenty time here, graduated, and know what I am talking about. Also the retention rate is low. It isn't because sooo many people get homesick which is what admissions will tell you. It is because UT isn't a worthwhile investment!
