I'm telling everyone right now, because I remember as an incoming freshman I would check this website, college for you is not going to be what other people write. These are people's experiences and in order for you to truly know what college is going to be like, you need to take the initiative to go to the school and see for yourself.

I remember when I was a senior in highschool I knew I wanted to be a psychologist. However, my heart was completely set on University of Connecticut because of the great reviews I heard about it and how much fun it is. I went to go visit it after I paid $70 to apply, I hated it. It was not the school I thought it was going to be and I did not want to be in the middle of nowhere surrounding by a ton of people who really just go there for the sports but that doesn't mean every single person hates it. A lot of people love it and love being in a huge school with a ton of other people.

My guidance counselor told me about UMass and previously I did not hear much about it, I went and visited it and I knew in my heart it was the college I wanted to go to. The area is very nice (if you like mountain areas with a lot of greenery and a small town about a mile away), every person I have met has been extremely friendly and there is so many opportunities to do things rather just party. I will completely agree that pre-gaming and the frat parties are very fun on the weekends but that's not all that's there. They have endless amounts of clubs and sports that you can do (even if you're not good!) I play volleyball with my friends and I suck at it. The campus is very convenient because the campus is not too big and there's always the buses that can drop you off anywhere you need to go.

Basically, college is what you make of it and you need to go and see it for yourselves before deciding or reviewing these websites. If you like a friendly, average college that's not too easy nor too hard to get into, meet some of the best friends you will ever have, and definitely get your money's worth for this school, than I recommend UMass. If not, keep looking for somewhere that's what you like!
