School full of preppy snobs that have never attended a public school in their lives. Classes were extremely easy. Student body was unintelligent, sheltered, and stuck up. Teachers were somewhat impressive, though administration was a joke. The town of Elon has nothing in it but the school and a few bars (only serve beer). The surronding area is what I would consider a ghetto. The police dept. is notorious for harrassing students, often using tasers and mace. Students are expelled for small infractions such as possession of personal amounts of marijuana. At least 60% of students are alcoholics. The quality of education was extremely low. I didn't do any homework for 3 semesters and hardly ever studied, but still aced all my classes. I did much more, and much harder, school work at community college before attending Elon. I would NEVER consider returning to Elon. Save your $20k+ per year and get a real education from community college. Nobody has ever heard of Elon outside of the surrounding area, so don't bank on the reputation getting you a job or even an interview. This would be a good choice for the immature HS student that isn't ready for college. The town is like a bubble kept seperate from the real world.
