Great school in practically every way. There is no need for a car; assuming you live on the peninsula, you can either walk or ride a bike most anywhere you need to go. This is especially nice when out at night - not having to worry about a DUI or getting in a wreck is great. However, take care not to make yourself a target by stumbling home alone from/to the seedier parts of town. The education, as always, is what you make of it. If you cram for every test then instantly forget, don't expect to get your tuition's worth. Taking that into consideration, the vast majority of classes and professors I've had have been outstanding (with a few exceptions).
