OK, i go to elon and love it, but im gonna give both sides of the story

first off. facilities are incredible. really incredible campus, really nice gym, huge library considering the number of students is only 5,000, very good food and dining halls.

academics: i have taken classes in several departments (biology, english, religion, philosophy, political science, anthropology, etc.) and all but ONE of my teachers seemed incompetent. the rest were far from it. the vast majority of my teachers have been genuinely interested in their subjects and engaging students in their areas of interest. almost every teacher ive had has been extremely intelligent and informative. for example, my religion teacher went to columbia for undergrad and grad, and then got phd at harvard.

in terms of difficult, it is 50/50. some of my teachers really made me earn my grade. sometimes I worked extremely hard in a class and got a B-, and on the other hand, i felt I had done absolutely nothing to deserve an A+ in others. classes are much more engaging and difficult once you get to 200-300 levels. 100 levels are quite easy if you had challenging curriculum in high school (i did the IB program)

social life: almost every party is ran by frat bros with prefrayed hat brims, dave matthews t-shirts, plaid vineyard vines/polo khakis, backwards visors, croakies, sperry sliders, or some sort of combination of the above. basically, the school is 90% white, with fairly airheaded kids from both NC and maryland ("i have a 100 foot yacht!"), massachusets, and other places up north. basically, girls saying "daddy just got me a new bmw" type of shit going on. so, overall arrogant and airheaded kids.

HOWEVER. even though Elon does not yet have a strong academic recommendation like duke or wake forest(which has a strong reputation for no reason, kind of like UNC chapel hill), Elon has great professors, tons of majors to choose from, great environment, great facilities, and anyone can get a really rewarding academic experience here. club sports and intramurals are great too.
