OK, first off, if you want to study music, DO NOT come here. You will hate it unless you really like theater. The PA department is very skewered towards theater and music majors are pretty much ignored. The practice rooms are awful, the pianos are horrible (although they do have a really nice Steinway they won't let the students use), and most of your time here will be spent learning about the technical and business side of theater. You get a year of music theory and that's it.

Obviously this is an engineering school, not a music school. I started off in computer science but changed my mind, and that's why I'm trapped in the music department. It's awful.

The university and the surrounding town are kind of a joke. If you want a place with culture, do not come here. If you want more than job training and would prefer a liberal education, do not come here. If you're not very interested in football or sports, do not come here since the whole town shuts down for football games. If you want more of a nightlife that doesn't include frat boy-filled bars, do not come here. If you're interested in broadcast media, do not come here. I could go on but you probably get the point.
