This is the best advice you're going to get: do NOT come to BC unless you are a white catholic school kid. The student body is completely closed-minded and cliquish. If you're coming from a public school like I am, you have to be lucky beyond belief to be happy here. More likely, you're going to be completely overwhelmed. It is nearly impossible to have a good social life unless you come with Catholic school friends like everyone else does. And they won't be open to branching out. Especially with guys, because you can't get into parties as a guy unless you bring girls. People keep their doors closed and really stay with the friends they made in the very beginning.

VERY IMPORTANT: Make sure you want to come to a school where the parties exclusively revolve around the dorms. BC obviously has no frats and the off-campus parties are exclusive/lame. People just drink in cramped dorm rooms and think they're having the time of their lives. You better be a LOUD and obnoxious person if you think you'll fit in here.

Aside from the social life, the academics are a joke. I took harder classes in 9th grade, and am not stimulated at all by the academics here. My history TA gave a lecture the other day and it sounded like he was reading out of an 8th grade textbook about American history. I laughed the entire time.

I picked this school because it had so many different things (or so I thought): sports, girls, party school, academics, reputation, big city, campus life, school spirit. Other than the sports and the city of Boston (which no one goes out into since people just stay on campus all the time) none of this truly exists. Come here with an amazingly energetic and happy attitude and you have a shot, but you REALLY have to go out and get it for yourself here.

responseAre you in Eurasia in the World? Ted Miller's lecture was a complete joke! I'm academically bored out of my mind at this joke of a school.
responseLol yeah who is this haha
responseHahhaha im in the same class!! Eurasia in the World lollol
Pretty biased review. I feel bad it sucked for you but BC has not been like this for me (though I went to a Catholic HS I had only modest connections coming in). Get involved with a club or sports team and you're set.

Off campus parties/mods are waaay better than random dorm shit which is mostly just pregaming.

In terms of academics… you were a communications major of course shit was a joke, I'm premed and though not impossible by any means it's challenging.

BC honestly is what you make it. If you want to make friends and get into a group and have fun you will and love it more than any college you visit. If you want to challenge yourself academically you can make shit as hard and stimulating on yourself as you want. Sorry you had such a shitty time dude.

Yeah look at andre williams. Hes black and he went to BC. Geeze
JK im not racist andre williams is the Cooliest
questionI'm glad that at least sport there is not a disadvantage. For me, it was a salvation during the college years, and I'm still really into sports. I even started placing bets on https://takebet.ng/betting-tips/football, and I can tell you that it was a pretty good source of income for me when I was a student, so I don't regret getting into it.
