The University of Toledo can be a great place to go to school if you are highly motivated and if you are in the right major.

UT is a great school if you are in Engineering, Pharmacy or Law. Economics is also an unsung hero, and the merger with MUO means we now have a strong med school. These are of course competitive programs; if you don't succeed in one of these programs, consider transferring, as any other program at UT is likely weak and poorly supported.

A major problem here is the apathetic student body. UT has a beautiful campus with lots of great ways to get involved, but all students do is complain about the perceived ugliness of the campus and how there is nothing to do compared to Cleveland and Ohio State. UT can be a really great place, but you have to actually make the effort to take a walk, join clubs and explore the city.

The city is similar to the university; the city of Toledo is underrated, but it could be so much better if the people here would stop complaining and get involved.

You will have to work hard to support yourself because the staff are of no use. Finanical Aid is guaranteed to make a mistake every semester, Advising will make mistakes that in retrospect are inexplicable and Career Services is essentially non-existant if you're not an engineering major. It took me well over two years to land an honest-to-goodness entry-level job because my degree didn't provide the right training or support.

The Toledo Rockets will make you proud. We could compete in the Big Ten and finish near the top in most sports. They have great facilities, and the games are fun to go to. Again, the problem is the apathetic student body that regularly shows up in an Ohio St. jersey and leaves at halftime.
