Major: Political Science (This Major's Salary over time)
The University of Virginia is, to me, the best place on earth. I chose it over Stanford, Williams, Dartmouth, Berkeley - why? The people. The people I've met at the University of Virginia are simply amazing and wonderful friends and comrades. Since arriving at Virginia I've found that the academic programs, for me at least, are spectacular. I'm a Government and Economics major, and these two programs are extremely strong at U.Va. History, English, and Environmental Science all get high marks from my friends while Engineering, Chemistry, Mathematics and CS could all use significant work. The best thing about U.Va. is the OPTIONS you have. It's not hard to double major, the faculty is accessible (after just my first year I was already doing my own research under the guidance of a senior professor in the politics department). President John T. Casteen III has placed a significant emphasis on the quality of undergraduate education at U.Va., and I think it shows in the quality of student work. The most important aspect of U.Va. can be seen in the quality of life of the students. For the most part, students at U.Va. are VERY HAPPY .
