UVA is a tough school, but I've learned an incredible amount after being here only one year. Although it may have a reputation as a snobby school, I find that this isn't at all the case. I'm sure there will be a-holes anywhere that you go, but I find that at UVA they are few and far between. Everyone that I know is really chill and down to earth, and there really is a diverse group of people here, contrary to popular belief. No matter who you are, if you are intelligent, motivated, like to learn, and you come here, you will love it. The professors are extremely approachable and most all of the big names teach undergraduates, unlike at some other top-tier universities. They actually care about the students, and are open to meeting with you pretty much any time. As far as the town goes, it's pretty cool, but not spectacular. The campus, on the other hand, is beautiful year-round. Making friends is easy, and you don't have to be in a frat to have a social life. Overall, i really enjoy UVA and would recommend it for anyone looking to go to an excellent, academically challenging university.
