Be independant- show initiave with you school work and your life in general. Don't be the typical student that combines a 4.0 gpa with major ass kissing in class... have the 4.0, but go further than perfect numbres and show you have an independant passion for something, and that you have taken the initiative to pursue it outside both inside and outside of academics.

Not much except good grades and test scores.

I worked extremely hard in high school. But I tried not to sacrifice too much. Meaning, I worked hard but never had a 4.0. I spent time with friends, doing activities that I LIKED for the sole purpose that I liked them, not just to have something on my resume. I think that Brown looks for that. Also, my admissions essay was "very Brown." It was about being a liberal in a conservative town/school/state.

Work hard, stand out, be different and genuine. Be an independent learner, and show a responsibility for your own education.
