I really feel that I have received more then my money's worth at LCCC. I have had more experience in the art department then I did in the academic programs, since I am an advertising major. I've had excellent teachers for my two years there in both of the departments. The work is very challenging and encourages growth in preparation for transferring to a four year college, or if you are to go right into the work place after receiving an associate’s degree. The majority of the professors work in the related field that they teach, so they are always up to date on everything. They are very personable and approachable; I have never had one teacher that didn't encourage me to be better at what I produce, and they were always glad to help. The students, once warmed up to one another, are very friendly, diverse and interesting. All types of people from all walks of life attend LCCC.

This is more then just a “last chance community college”. It’s helped me get my feet on the ground in the best possible way. I firmly believe that a college education is what you put into what you have received. You need to work with what you have, and try to be the best you can possibly be.

LCCC should change their motto from “It’s all about you” to "It's all about your MONEY". I recently tried to transfer credits into LCCC from a Christian university (a member of TRACS). I was accepted and ready to start the spring 2008 semester. About a week before LCCC started their Christmas break, I got a letter from the school saying they wouldn't accept my credits for transfer. I called them and they had the audacity to tell me my university wasn't accredited because they weren't a part of Middle States. I immediately contacted my former university and TRACS for their help. They both sent information to LCCC on the status of my schools accreditation. LCCC got back to me and said they would have to ask the other colleges in the Wilkes-Barre and Scranton area if they would take the credits. That was over 6 weeks ago and the Dean hasn't called me back with an answer. Their customer service stinks! I gave up on them and applied to a different school.

Defenitely under-rated, you get out of this school what you put in. However, I wish it was a four-year school.

Very knowledgeable faculty, and very helpful counselors.
