I am disappointed at the way the pre-pharmacy program is run. The science teachers have been making it very difficult to pass the classes and the scores are not curved. In one of my science classes, almost 40% had to drop to avoid failing the class. Dropping a major science class means it will take you another year to graduate. Many students also have to take easier non-required filler math/science classes that you would not have otherwise taken to build up your grade point average. An extra year to complete your program means another year of costly tuition I can barely afford. And this is still no guarantee you will get into their pharmacy program. Also, you need a LOR from a pharmacist to get into the pharmacy school. Many I talked to are having an extremely difficult time finding a place to volunteer to get that reference. Needless to say attending this school has been extremely stressful and disappointing. I hope someone in their administration reads this and changes things because I am not the only one who feels this way.

I also have to add onto another student's negative comment about dentistry at UoP, but it's solely about the dental hygiene program at UoP -located in Stockton. The office staff are so rude that they did not care to answer my phone calls, nor did they return any of my voice mail messages. I have even sent them emails in regards to questions about the program, and still no response. The hell with UoP dental hygiene program! I'm just glad that I will be attending another dental hygiene program this fall that cares for their students and have office staffs that know how to answer questions for entering-level candidates! Unlike UoP that has a chip on their shoulder for no good reasons. And wow, after reading a lot of the comments here about UoP, I'm not surprised that potential employers don't find this institute to be a good school.

I came to Pacific from the East Bay and I immediately fell in love with the campus. It looks like it was plucked from the East Coast and placed in Stockton. While the campus is beautiful, I have come to learn that is not very important. Class sizes are small and I've met some amazing people. The professors are nice and helpful. However, Stockton is a miserable place to be. We receive "campus safety" e-mails way too often about students being robbed at gunpoint or knife point. There are not very many clubs to join unless you are of some rare ethnicity. There is never anything to do on campus, so most people just go home. If you want a pretty campus with pretty good classes and you plan to go home every weekend, I would recommend this school.
