My education at UCI helped, but my outside work experienced helped me to get a job. UC Irvine is located in Irvine and there are a lot of jobs in the Irvine area. Work part time while in school and gain some experience.

FOUR YEARS OF YOUR LIFE YOU WILL NEVER GET BACK!!!!!

So this site is quite misleading with the positive grading system. Do not get me wrong it is one of the top schools money can get you, however when you have to deal with bullshit arrogant biology professors and counselors who tell you that you are not good enough to become a doctor you realize that

A. UC schools produce drones for the academic/research industry

B. College life here is AWFUL in this commuter school

C. The dreams of living life like in St. Elmo's Fire post graduation is shattered from the lack of assistance (unless you pay) from administration to assimilate back into society

D. Not to mention the BULL SHIT student fees that go to student affairs which is code for GREEK BOOZE FUND

E. Bureaucratic red tapes EVERY WHERE

Lastly, This is not a PRO student school, the admin sucks money out of you, the students will try to kill you in your sleep, and most profs could give two shits about your needs

I would NEVER EVER want my child to be a legacy at this or any UC institution. I look back at it and I would stop my 17 year old self from clicking the accept button. Unless you major in social science and decide to be a professional student the academics can be of some use, bur remember you will need one trustfund and/or sugar mamma or daddy. If you would like to sit with cut throat jerk offs who stab people in the eye with a pokemon pencil to be the first one at the profs. office hour you will fit in smashingly!

Super Brilliant
Great research university for both undergrad & graduate levels. Constant construction of new facilities and buildings, CS department has many professors respected in their fields. Could have had more TAs with native english speaking skills though..

I was accepted to UCLA and UC Berkeley but have decided to attend UCI. They have given me large amount of scholarships and I liked the campus and its surrounding environment. Yes, it is not as exciting city as LA or SF. However, I believe, quite, clean and safe environment is what I need to prepare myself for MedSchool. The professors here are top notch in there fields and are very approachable and kind. But not many students actually go to talk to them. The facilities that UCI have are awesome, especially ARC, Beckman Laser Institution and Science Library. UCI is still a new school compare to LA and Berkeley. However, I find it certainly one of the fastest growing institutions in the nation. Natural, physical, and engineering department are growing very fast. They have just opened a Law School this year and received massive number of applicants for only few spots they were able to accommodate. I am proud of UCI and the city of Irvine. I am also excited to see this institution advance itself to even higher standards in the near future.
