I have always wanted to be a nurse, but when I was applying to schools in high school I knew programs were mostly impacted...except for Dominican. So here I am now, sadly regretting my decision. I used to say that I was only going to Dominican for the nursing program, otherwise I would've DEFINITELY gone somewhere else...well now, I can't even say that! The program is horrible. The education is lacking, some of the teachers are some of the worst in the field and some are on a power trip. I can't stress enough how horrible my experience has been.

It's so sad to say that this has been my college experience. I knew that nursing wasn't going to be easy, and that was a mature choice on my part, however, the nursing program is extremely non-supportive and doubtful upon their students. It's a money-pit too and they don't even acknowledge that...for example, i know of 2 people who recieved a 74.7% test average & a 74.92% test average (but the school requires a 75% test average)...it's against policy to round...a semester of being held behind & $8,000 just to take the class again were the repercussions suffered.

DO NOT, I REPEAT, do NOT come to this school...aside from the nursing program, they don't respect the fact that there are students living on campus...it's extremely boring. No student life. Don't make the same mistake I did!

This school has a HORRRRIBLE housing director who has ruined the schools social life. Nothing fun ever happens here. Go somewhere else. Plus it's outrageously expensive.

I am the type of student who gets mostly A's in honors and AP classes. I was very suprised by my experience at Dominican. I was not really challenged in my coursework and most other students didn't seem to care about class...beyond getting the work done. There aren't really any activities to participate in that foster intelectual growth or conversation. The school is not at all like what the university would have perspective students believe; the work isnt difficult, the student life is horrible. I am leaving half way into my freshman year and haven't a clue what I am going to do. Don't even try this. I had a tough year during my senior year in high school, that's the only reason I ended up here, because I did not get to apply to a lot of places that I could have gone to. There are a lot of people who want to go to Stanford or the UC system and didn't get in who end up getting stuck at Dominican, it's like they suck you in, don't even consider getting sucked in!

Dominican is a good school. It gives you the resources you need to obtain some sort of an Education. If your not a Pre med or nursing major then it's probly not in your best intrest to come, seeing as how the programs here are about the same you would get at any state school. At times the social life can get stifling seeing the same people day in and day out but San Francisco is only a few minutes away and the University does put on some good dances. All in all I feel as though Dominican is one very expensive jounior college, because by the time you are a sophmore atleast half of your freshman class will be gone. So if your not coming here for sports, nursing, or pre med then consider this school carefully, because chances are you might end up wasting your money
