I absolutely think that Art Center College of Design was detrimental in getting me the skills and education I needed to obtain the job I wanted after college. In this poor economy, I am happy to say that the broadcast design field doesn't seem to be slowing down at all. I walked out of Art Center with a great portfolio, and was able to get a job within a month of graduation. I have been working steadily ever since that day. I have been 10 years in the field, now.

1. I have always thought very highly of my education and am quite grateful for the knowledge as well as the character built through the intensity of the education. I have lived and worked on my profession in several countries and I would have been unable to succeed had I not had the education and school network support that I received.

2. I wish I would have known how to navigate through the corporate latter and its politics much better than I did upon my graduation. And I also wish that despite the constant and inevitable competition, that I would've reached out to my colleagues for support and advice a lot more. I also wish I would have not thought certain things so much and trusted myself a lot more.

3. Experiment as much as you can at school because it will always be your main playground. The habits that you acquire through your education are the ones that you will keep and will help you navigate through uncertain times and further learning in the future when the full support that you would have normally had at school from friends and faculty is no longer there. Trust yourself always but know when to listen and apply yourself. Don't ever be afraid to take risks. After graduation, it becomes harder to experiment as work takes a toll in our time and life. But always try to find the time to continue to explore and experiment. Always push the boundaries to envision further, always seek knowledge to satisfy your uncertainties and you'll be fine! :) Best of luck and have fun while you are at it.

If you are thinking about going to this school for fine art or illustration, DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY. Quality of education is getting worse, most faculty are wishy washy and doesn't challenge you creatively.
Perceived Campus Safety: A, Education Quality: F

You get what you put into it. Don't go because you feel Art Center will get you a job. Go because you want to learn your trade, and in the end, you will get just that.
