 | Not so bright | | I spent plenty of time in a Liberal Arts University, and discovered that I really needed a specific education in Drama to give me the tools necessary to seek a career in acting. Seven years since enrolling and five years after graduation, I am so glad that I chose AADA for my training. The time that the faculty spent with me made me the actor that I am today. I found the instructors to be passionate, caring individuals who really took the time to get to know all of my classmates and figure out how they could best be of service in our education. Classes were small, so I never had the feeling of being left out or looked over. Instructors were always available to discuss progress and were genuinely concerned with the students growth as actors. Within the student body, I really got to know everyone (which was a breath of fresh air considering I had come from a university that had 70,000 people on campus at any one time of the day). I built friendships that have lasted, and many have turned into industry contacts and partnerships. Most importantly, I feel that AADA gave me the tools to be the best actor I can be, I went out into the industry knowing that once I started auditioning, I would feel confident in my work and be able to book the job. Definitely happy with my choice to attend AADA. | Education Quality: A+, Campus Aesthetics: B | | | |

| | Quite Bright | I enjoyed every moment at AADA (granted, I attended AADA in NYC, NOT AADA West, which I've heard is a different experience). I had previously graduated with a theatre degree from a four year university and grew and learned so much from the program at AADA. People who leave early or who shrug it off don't realize that being an actor is more than just learning lines; it requires all of you. To anyone looking to attend AADA right out of highschool I would go for the two years (assuming you are accepted back), and then go on to a four year university. Credits transfer. At least from the NYC location.I wouldn't trade my experiences at AADA (and in NYC) for anything in the world. They've made me such a better actor. | | Quite Bright | I think a lot of people come to the Academy surprised by the mental and physical exhaustion. People automatically assume acting is an easy option, do not be fooled. You might not have to be prepared to major in english and history for this course but there is a lot of academic work and research to be done. Character research is fun but there is a lot more to it than just that. The hours seem short at first but remember for every hour you put in your probably spending (at least) that amount of time again rehearsing etc. The further you get into the course the more emotionally drained you are. Originally I used to hate being told to go get more life experience before attending drama school but now I'm glad I was warned. Make sure you really want this and have good support before you come to this school. It will do incredible things for you but be prepared - your training for a job in a very competitive industry not just to get up and make your friends laugh. | Education Quality: A+, Campus Aesthetics: C | | | |
